Our vision is to re-establish the metropolitan Scotch Malt Whisky tradition in Glasgow and once again place this city alongside the other great whisky regions of Scotland.
The Glasgow Distillery Company passionately invests in the best distilling equipment, sources the finest ingredients, best casks from around the world and employs an innovative team of skilled distillers. The result is a wide portfolio of handcrafted premium spirits that are available around the world, with each adhering to our three cornerstones of: quality, authenticity and innovation.
The distilling magic happens within our unique copper pot stills christened: ‘Annie’, ‘Mhairi’ and ‘Tara’ – after family members of the three founders – and ‘Margaret’ and ‘Frances’, named after two of Glasgow’s most influential female artists and sisters, Margaret and Frances MacDonald.

The Glasgow Distillery vision has been brought to life through the creation of our whisky brand – Glasgow 1770 Single Malt Scotch Whisky.
The mission for Glasgow 1770 Single Malt Scotch Whisky has been to create a contemporary whisky brand, accessible for anyone who enjoys premium spirits, which has a core range of three distinctively different single malts reflecting a different production style in each.
Glasgow 1770 Single Malt seeks to pay homage to this city’s great whisky heritage whilst at the same time re-igniting the city’s single malt distilling future.
As the first new independent whisky distillery in the city for over 100 years, we are leading the way for a new wave of single malt distilleries, not just in the city of Glasgow, but also across Scotland.
We truly wish to move the world of whisky forward, without compromising on the quality craftsmanship, skill, time and dedication required to craft a range of multi award-winning single malts.
Glasgow 1770 Single Malt Scotch Whisky – The Original
Glasgow 1770 Single Malt Scotch Whisky – The Original, is an incredibly fresh and fruity addition to the Glasgow 1770 Signature Range. Matured in first fill ex-bourbon casks and finished in virgin oak, Glasgow 1770 ‘The Original’ is incredibly smooth, exceptionally fruity and complex; a single malt of sublime quality.
Glasgow 1770 Single Malt Scotch Whisky – Peated Rich & Smoky
Glasgow 1770 Single Malt Scotch Whisky – Peated Rich & Smoky, is an incredibly rich and smoky addition to the Glasgow 1770 Signature Range. Matured in virgin oak and finished in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, Glasgow 1770 ‘Peated Rich & Smoky’ is crafted by smoking the finest barley with aromatic heather-rich peat from the Scottish Highlands.
Glasgow 1770 Single Malt Scotch Whisky – Triple Distilled Release No.1.
Glasgow 1770 Single Malt Scotch Whisky – Triple Distilled Release No.1, is an incredibly smooth and complex addition to the Glasgow 1770 Signature Range. Matured exclusively in virgin oak casks, Glasgow 1770 Triple Distilled Release No.1 is distilled three times in our traditional copper pot stills; a truly sophisticated single malt.
